Philosophy and Smart Culture Become Umbrellas Application of Smart Province in DIY
Yogyakarta – Government Affairs and Administration of Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta (UMY) held a Public Lecture “Building Smart Province in Yogyakarta Special Region” on Saturday (12/10) in the Amphitheater Room Building E6 K.H. Ibrahim 5th Floor UMY. This event is one of the agendas in the Government Information Governance course (5th-semester course) administered by Dewi Sekar Kencono, S.IP., M.Sc., Isnaini Mualidin, S.IP., MPA. and Bachtiar Dwi Kurniawan, S.Fil.I., MPA. The speakers presented were Dr. Sayuri Egaravanda, S.Kom, M.Eng., Head of Public Service Application Section of the DIY Communication and Information Office.
On this occasion, Dr. Sayuri said that Smart Province in DIY, or called Jogja Smart Province (JSP) is a movement whose idea began with the speech of the Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengkubowono X, which was then followed up into a big agenda to bring DIY at a “smarter” level in utilizing information and communication technology effectively and efficiently. “The initiation of JSP began with a speech by the Governor of Yogyakarta when he was reappointed as governor on October 10, 2017,” he explained.
“JSP is intended to solve problems in DIY creatively and innovatively by every stakeholder through optimization of technology utilization, data integration and collaboration between regions, to create a healthier, more comfortable and safe life for the people of Jogja,” he added.
On the same occasion, Sekar explained that the application of JSP gave rise to a paradigm shift from conventional to the digital age. He added that JSP is closely related to the philosophy and smart culture that exists in DIY. “The application of JSP is closely related to philosophy or smart culture, and this is because the culture in DIY is very thick and recognized by the world so that it becomes an umbrella in the application of JSP,” he said.
