OPENING UMY SUMMER SCHOOL 2019

Yogyakarta – Monday 22/7/19 Located at the integrated campus of the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, KH Building. Ibrahim, the 5th opening of the UMY Summer School was held, marked by the beating of the gong by the Vice-Chancellor for Cooperation and International Affairs Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi ,. M.Sc. the activity was officially opened. The opening was attended by 162 participants consisting of 25 different countries spread across 7 International Study Programs at UMY. One of them is the International Government (IGOV), which is an International Class Government Science Study Program. IGOV participated by sending two representatives, namely from Malaysia and Indonesia. The activity will take place for one week ahead, participants will be invited to know more about the culture in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta.
Internationalization is one program that is intensively carried out by several universities in Indonesia. The program is intended to strengthen relations between Indonesia and several countries in the world. The Internationalization Program is also used as a process in creating an academic atmosphere that is nuanced Internationally at UMY. Responding to this, UMY held a summer school activity with the 7th International Study Program, namely; IDSS (International Dental Summer School), IPSS (International Pharmacy Summer School), ITMSS (International Tropical Medicine Summer), SCLS (Summer Course of Law and Sharia), INSS (International Nursing Summer School). IGOPSS (International Government and Politics Summer School), and IENC (International Emen- gency Nursing Camp).
The opening of Summer School was very lively, starting with a parade of 25 different countries providing a thick international atmosphere, then proceeding with opening remaxes and welcoming speeches by university leaders, event committee and representatives of summer school participants represented by Muhammad wrongly from Egyp (Egypt) .
Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P. as the Chancellor of UMY said bahwah “this activity is one of the means to show the quality of UMY as an International-Friendly campus which finally can be recognized by the public in the international arena” he concluded. (ab)
