School of Democracy: KPU Prabumulih coupled with Fisipol UMY

Yogyakarta – Wednesday (10/16/19) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIPOL) University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and the Prabumulih Election Commission, Sumatra Province Selatat (KPU Prabumulih) held a meeting to discuss cooperation on democratic school programs carried out by The General Election Commission of Prabumulih City, the meeting took place in the Meeting Room of the UMY Social Sciences Faculty. Chairperson of KPU Prabumulih Marjuansyah. S. IP and his entourage and Dr. Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Sc. as the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Muhammadiyah University, Yogyakarta and several UMY Government Science lecturers.

Bambang Eka Cahya Widodo, S.IP., M.Sc. one of the Government Science lecturers revealed that the collaboration with UMY Social and Political Sciences for the democratic school program was the right choice for the KPU Prabumulih. “It is essential for us to interact with the community through programs like this, as well as to reflect the theories taught in class so that students can find out how the real situation in the field,” he said.
Dr. phil. Ridho Al-Hamdi, MA added that this collaboration was not only important for students and KPU Prabumulih, with the existence of this program it was hoped that it would also be able to educate and provide insight to the public regarding clean and honest democratic parties. “I hope that this collaboration does not rule out the possibility of just a democratic school program but there are many things that can be done together by Pre-Election Commission and UMY Social and Political Sciences”.

The activity was closed with the signing of the cooperation agreement and the giving of souvenirs by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Dr. Titin Purwaningsih, S.IP., M.Sc. and Chairperson of KPU Prabumulih Marjuansyah. OK. (RFN).
