On Sunday (15/10) hundreds of students Departement of Government Affairs and Administration UMY force 2017 follow Social Day 2017 held Student Departement of Government Affairs and Administration Corps (Komap) Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY). Social Day is an annual event in the series of Gebyar Government. After two years previously always held in Dusun Ngebel, Social Day this time was held in Bengen Village, Bangunjiwo Village, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. In these activities the students are required to hold various forms of community service activities in RT in Bengen hamlet, Kasihan, Bantul.
The event was attended by Head of Hamlet of Rohen, Religious and Community Leader, Head of Departement of Government Affairs and Administration UMY which on this occasion represented by Head of Student  Departement of Government Affairs and Administration Corps (Komap) Aldri Samsa. Social Day this year has a theme of “sharing culture to serve the country”. The purpose of the activity is one of the forms of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi by UMY Governmental Science students. This annual event is also an opportunity for students to serve and build the village. In addition, students are expected to be trained to deal with the community as early as possible. Because, students when graduated later will return back to the community.
The event series of Social Day 2017 was officially opened by the head of Bangen Dukuh Bangadi Rohadi, in his speech Rohadi advised that students should be able to communicate and serve the community. Although in the process there will be a discrepancy of opinion and behavior between students and society. However, it does not matter, the student must be able to overcome it all. Aldri Samsa as the representative of Head of Departement of Government Affairs and Administration UMY to make Social Day 2017 as comfortable as possible. With Social Day 2017 can train themselves to build villages and cooperation. So it is expected that the first year students of  Departement of Government Affairs and Administration UMY can be active in the series of events later.
After the opening of Social Day 2017 event symbolically followed by aerobic aerobics led by the instructor of Bangen dukuh region. Seen the public is very enthusiastic with the proven field where the opening ceremony took place. In this event as many as 200 participants from the IP majors of class of 2017 are deployed to several Rukun Tangga (RT), participants will hold activities ranging from opening, door prize aerobics gymnastics and prize prizes to door prize winners, free check ups to low-cost market for the community RT then proceed with the socialization that has been prepared by each class for the RT which has become its responsibility.
Chairman of Social Day 2017 Reza Muhammad Nashir, said Social Day 2017 is an implementation of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi which is community service and expected with this event able to establish silaturrahmi between Muhammadiyah University Yogyakarta especially Departement of Government Affairs and Administration to surrounding community. “As far as our observation is that the poverty rate of hamlet bangen reaches 61 percent so that this program is considered important to be done, because in the sequence of Social Day 2017 event each group is required to assist each RT in Bangen and make work program according to the needs and characteristics of RT yng become its responsibility . Later the group is involved to assist community activities such as work and other work in accordance with work programs that have been prepared previously “said Nashir.
The socialisation was held in several RTs which became the responsibility of each group. So the topics raised by each group vary according to the needs of the RT. On this occasion group 1 (One) raised the topic on the socialization with the title “Development of the Internet”. By explaining some portrait of internet development in Indonesia. Group 1 explains the importance for people to understand the development of the internet. Because at this time to access information and communication will be easier with internet technology.
At the end of Social Day 2017 will be announced the best group based his judgment refers to several components such as innovation activities, liveliness and enthusiasm of the community. Programs created by each group of students in the activity is also expected to train students to be more creative and innovative in solving problems that exist in the community. With this Social Day, Departement of Government Affairs and Administration students can better establish relationships with the community and can foster emotional intelligence for participants because this event requires good cooperation between students.
