Bantul (27/04/18) Department of Government Affairs and Administration UMY held a thesis batch II graduation session period III to 2017-2018 on 25-28 April 2018 followed by 116 students involving 23 lecturers of Government Affairs and Administration as a tester. Different from previous years, thesis trial (awareness) for the third period of the graduation year 2017-2018 UMY Department of Government Affairs and Administration held into two waves (2 batches). It is intended to further improve the focus of exam results, reliability, integrity, and the effectiveness of the exams. Previous thesis trial batch II III period has been held on Friday-Saturday, March 2 to 3, 2018 held in Building E Faculty of Social and Political Science of the 1st floor of the campus of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
On the sidelines as a tester, Sakir, S.IP., M.IP (Lecturer of Government of UMY) explained the reason for the thesis exam format was held in two waves. According to Sakir, S.IP., M.IP, there are two waves of thesis exams this year as a step to parse the number of examinees, because if held at one time, the participants will accumulate. “The existence of two waves/batches is dedicated to providing a relatively long time for students who have taken the exam to revise their thesis and for those who have been tested will feel at ease and can use their time for other positive and productive activities,” said the Government Affairs and Administration Coordinator Laboratory.
After completing the process of preparing the thesis the students will carry out thesis and awareness exams, specifically, the exam is intended to encourage students to understand the work that has been prepared, reviewed and accountable in front of the supervisor and lecturer examiners. Thus, the final scholarly work of the thesis has the same position as the other courses with the weight of 6 credits, through exams which are carried out through two stages of the exam proposal, and examination of awareness which is an integral part of the curriculum.
