On the sidelines enjoying a typical Yogyakarta dinner, Drs. H. Bambang M. Yasin explained the problem faced by Dompu Regency is mainly about corn waste that has not been processed optimally.
“Dompu regency is the cornbank of corn in Indonesia, but there are still problems faced, like how to make corn from the roots to the leaves can be sold on the market,” said the Regent. Next Drs. H. Bambang M. Yasin said, “These problems are indeed true, because all this time corn crops with economic value are the corn seeds only, while the other corn plants are only allowed to rot when the harvest is done”.
After the explanation related to the problems faced today, Dr. Ir. Sukamta, M.T., IPM offers an innovation in the management of corn plants so that all parts of the corn plant can be sold. The innovation was welcomed by the Regent in Dompu. As a result of this meeting, UMY and the Dompu Regency Government will meet again and will conduct a survey to find out how much the potential increase in corn yields is.
