Increase Research and Community Service, LP3M UMY Holds Socialization of the Tri Dharma Program
Yogyakarta – The Institute for Research, Publication and Community Service of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (LP3M UMY) held a socialization of the Higher Education Tri Dharma Program to all UMY Lecturers. The socialization activity aims to realize the values of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely in the fields of education and teaching, research, and community service.
On Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the UMY Social and Political Meeting Room, lecturers at the UMY Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) had the opportunity to get socialization on the Tri Dharma College Program by LP3M UMY.
Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, MP as Head of LP3M UMY said that this socialization activity is our step to improve the quality of research results and service for lecturers. “Actually the duties of lecturers are not only to teach but also to conduct research and community service”, he said.
In addition, Gatot said that the socialization activities carried out by the LP3M were a follow-up of the Strategic Plan (Renstra) and the roadmap that had been set by the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
“This socialization is also our step to provide motivation to UMY Faculty of Social and Political Sciences lecturers in developing research and community service at the international level because according to the Strategic Plan set by the target of UMY in 2020 our campus is known and can speak a lot internationally “, Said Gatot.
In addition to realizing Tri Dharma, the Chairperson of the UMY LP3M said that each of the lecturers must be able to realize the values of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah value or Catur Dharma Perguruan Tinggi in carrying out their duties as lecturers. “Because we live in the Muhammadiyah environment, we must, therefore, carry out the mandate of the Muhammadiyah College Chess Dharma and also be integrated with the values of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah value”.
Dianita Sugiyono, S.Kep., Ns., MHID as the Head of Publication Division of LP3M UMY said that the hope of the socialization this time was to optimize research and service that could have tangible benefits for the community or those in need. Then in conducting research and community service, lecturers are able to fulfill the Strategic Performance Index. (Vindhi).
