Held Lecture Series By Government Affairs and Administration In BAPPENAS, BNPB, and DPR-RI Success.

Jakarta – (26/11) 34 students of the Government Affairs and Administration of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta participated in the Kuliah Kerja Lapangan (KKL).

The KKL activity series began with a visit to the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS). On this occasion, Head of BAPPENAS Data and Information Center Suherman, S. Kom., M.Sc immediately welcomed and provided information about information utilization in development in Indonesia.

The use of technology in providing information, especially development planning, is a mandatory matter carried out by BAPPENAS. This is related to the digital world competition in Asian countries and even throughout the world, most of which uses all forms of information presented in online forms.

“The use of technology in providing information to all circles is a mandatory thing to do, otherwise our country will be further behind. Especially nowadays, almost all Asian countries and even the world have used technology to provide information, “said Suherman.
On the next occasion on the same day, a visit was made at the Office of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). Head of BNPB Public Relations Division Drs. Rita Rosita gave advice to all KKL participants by presenting the Profile of BNPB. Accompanied by BNPB Steering Elementary Rahmawati Husein, MCP., Ph.D., all Students were given the opportunity to see how the disaster management monitoring process took place in the Operational Control Center Room.

“Natural disasters cannot be predicted when they will come, but if we know earlier about natural changes, then there can be minimized the occurrence of many fatalities due to the impact of natural disasters,” said Rita. BNPB as a national disaster management agency in providing information to all communities related to the disaster, using information technology in the form of websites, social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) so that it can be easily accessed anytime and anywhere.

The last visit is Capital City was to visit the Office of Commission 1 of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI). On this occasion, all Students had the opportunity to interact and discuss directly with Dave Akbarshah Fikarno, ME Member of the DPR-RI from the Golongan Karya party (Golkar) Faction.

The focus of the discussion is about digital democracy and the millennial generation. Dave said that in the era of all-use IT there were many problems which eventually became a means of dividing the nation, one of which was the dissemination of untrue news or hoaxes.
Hoax problems in Indonesia are not an ordinary problem, therefore the handling must be through wise and intelligent thinking. “Hoaxes or fake news become subscriptions to conflicts that occur in Indonesia, therefore the main awareness deepened is starting from each individual to be able to overcome them,” concluded Dave.

“You are the hope of the millennial generation who will later help the divisions that exist in this country, by having responsiveness and responsiveness in capturing information,” added Dave in the closing of this activity. (Faisal/Sulthon).
