ip_UmyStudies of Governmental Sciences is a study that is expected to print the figures who later dabbled in the world of government. This requires graduates of this study to master managerial governance. For that, the Government of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (IP UMY) Administration Study Program introduces the Application Technology System Dynamic in solving social problems that occur in society.
UMY lecturer of IP, Tunjung Sulaksono, SIP, MA on the sidelines of Application Training System Dynamic IP UMY, Friday (13/1) at UMY Computer Computer Laboratory, this activity was followed by some lecturers and students of Master Program of Governmental Science (MIP) of UMY. This action itself is held from Thursday to Saturday (12-14 / 1).
According to Tunjung, System Dynamic first introduced by Jay W Forrester, a professor from the United States is a computer modelling method that can understand complex dynamic behaviours over time. Thus, the way can be a supporting tool for the leadership of an organisation in the decision-making process.
Furthermore Tunjung explains, actually every human instinctively use a model in making decisions. But the model used is incomplete and blurred because it is only imagined by the mind. The human brain that is not necessarily true makes the model sometimes cannot be interpreted entirely. “System Dynamics is an effort to simplify the social system. System Dynamics abstracts the phenomenon in the real world to a more real and clear model with computer models. ”
With a more realistic picture, later leaders of the organisation can predict the possibilities that occur in the community. For example in the use of Family Planning (KB). System Dynamics can predict what will happen some time forward if the growth of the city is left. Similarly, the extent of family planning and other programs can reduce the population growth. “It ultimately makes it easier for us to make decisions. Obviously, we still have to identify the problems and collect the data into influential factors first. The data should also be quantitative, not qualitative “, explained Tunjung.
IP UMY mentioned Tunjung presents System Dynamic expert, Dr Lilik Soetiarso. Training is divided into three material sessions. The first material is the concept material, the dynamics of the system, modelling and simulation. The second element in the form of System Dynamic pengenalan and continued introduction of Powersim Software. “There is also self-employment practice of Powersim application to complete case study.”
Ultimately, Tunjung expects that with this training, the participants can operate Powersim software as a Dynamic System instrument. “That way, they can implement this system in conducting studies or analysis to take a decision that has a direct impact on society. Also, there is a harp science will be transmitted to all IP students as a candidate for decision makers for this nation “, he said.
