Election Education Madrasah: Initial Steps Campaigning the Importance of Elections for Young Generation

As a form of increasing the capacity of the Komunitas Independen Sadar Pemilu (KISP), the Laboratory of Government Affairs and Administration UMY and the Anti-Corruption Task Force of PDM Kota Yogyakarta held Election Education Madrasah activities. This activity was held on Tuesday, March 1, 2018, at the Meeting Room of Fisipol UMY. The topics covered are the role of volunteers and election fraud models conducted by political parties in order to win the election. The purpose of holding an Election Education Madrasah is to provide an understanding of how the role of millennial youth in overseeing the 2019 election to be held so that it runs well and democratically and is able to be the first step in campaigning for the importance of elections for the young generation.
Sri Surani, SP as a resource person and a KPU commissioner of Yogyakarta said the role of volunteers in conveying information about the elections to be held in 2019 is very important because the 2019 election is different from the previous election. The 2019 election will be held simultaneously namely the election of President, Vice President, DPR RI, and DPRD.
