Department of Government Affairs and Administration UMY Develops Educational Tourism Village Based on Ornamental Fish

Bantul- Laboratory of Department of Government Affairs and Administration UMY demonstrated the establishment of an Educational Tourism Village Based on Ornamental Fish in Gilangharjo Village, Pandak, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The first activity was conducted by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at the Pura Manunggal  Kadisoro Hall, Gilangharjo, Bantul. This activity was attended by Kwintarto Heru Prabowo, S.Sos as the Head of the Bantul Regency Tourism Office, the Community Service Team who was also the Lecturer of Department of Government Affairs and Administration UMY consisting of Dr. Suswanta, M.Sc. and Sakir, S.IP., M.IP, as well as Anang Setyawan, S.IP (Department of Government Affairs and Administration Students). In addition, there was also the Head of the Gilangharjo Village (Drs. Pardiyono), Dukuh  Kadisoro Hamlet  (Basuki Pantara), and community leaders in Kadisoro.
The activities carried out with the Grant Scheme of the Partner Village Development Program (PPDM) aim to expand and manage the problems in Kadisoro. One of the existing Potential is Ornamental Fish. But so far the potential has not been managed properly. This is similar to what was conveyed by Muhammad Gema, S.IP as the Manager of Ornamental Fish Group “The potential in Kadisoro is indeed a lot, but the community does not have a shared commitment to develop so that later it can improve the economy of Kadisoro. One of the potentials is Ornamental Fish, “said Gema, who is also an alumnus of the Department of Government Affairs and Administration UMY.
Gema added that this plan began with the chat of several young people who saw the potential in Kadisoro. Because in Kadisoro this has often received visits from various regions related to ornamental fish cultivation. Starting from that, young people have initiatives to make Kadisoro a tourist area for ornamental fish. While Dr. Suswanta, M.Sc as Chair of the PPDM Team of UMY said that the UMY Government Science Laboratory has a commitment to develop village potentials in DIY.
Because this is in accordance with UMY’s IP Laboratory superior program, DESA CLINIC. Village Clinic It has activities besides optimizing the Village Information System (SID), Progressing Village, Village Anti Money Politics, and improving village economy based on village potential. “UMY Government Science Laboratory has a commitment to develop the village’s potential in DIY. One of them is the development of education tourism villages based on ornamental fish cultivation in Kadisoro, Gilangharjo. The first activity was conducted by the FGD to find out the potential and the obstacles and plans for follow-up, “Suswanta said. As a result of the meeting, the community responded to the plan for developing an Educational-Based Tourism Village Enthusiastic Fish Cultivation enthusiastically, they even suggested that the socialization of this plan could be carried out in each RT. The plan is to hold further meetings to form village education tourism management team based on ornamental fish so that planning is more mature.
