Department of Government Affairs and Administration, MPM and LP3M UMY Conduct Self-Reliance Camp to Increase Writing Culture
In improving the quality of scientific publications for national and international journals for lecturers. The UMY Research and Society Education Research Institute (LP3M) in collaboration with the Community Empowerment Assembly (MPM) as well as the Government Affairs and Administration Laboratory, organized a Berdikari Camp training to write a scientific article focusing on community development held on April 11-12, 2018 at Hotel Puri Asri, Magelang, Central Java.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Muhamamdiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY), Dr. Ir Sukamta, M.T., IPM, revealed that the event Berdikari Camp is an effort to improve the competence of lecturers in writing scientific articles based on community service. Scientific papers written by lecturers not only in the form of reports to be utilized by the general public dn Berdikari Camp event was opened directly by the Rector of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY). The event of Berdikari Camp was attended by 53 UMY lecturers and 12 assistants, in this event will be in the selection of the number of scientific articles produced by the lecturers who currently still numbered 80 articles and still can be increased again, the article will then be selected by the team to enter to the journal journal Berdikari UMY or will be presented at the National Seminar on Community Service Results with the theme “Strengthening IPTEKS Innovation for Local Government to be implemented on April 24, 2018 later.
Activities Berdikari Camp is a time where the lecturers do the finishing of scientific tullis as the end of a series of training activities of scientific writing that is an effort LP3M UMY to improve scientific publications in national and international journals, in addition to encourage lecturers to continue to improve the quality of scientific articles the results of community service, this objection can be one of the assessment of UMY performance to the community, besides this activity can be a consideration point as UMY effort to facing Dikti ranking on 17 May 2018 in the scheme of dedication.
This journal will be published every 2 times a year in February and August. Scientific papers in a self-supporting journal will be a learning tool for community empowerment, especially rural and urban development from various aspects in Indonesia in a participative, independent, and sustainable manner. The book will publish actual, critical and argumentative topics, around community empowerment programs, use of appropriate technology, and participatory, independent, tolerant and sustainable urban and rural governance that is expected to become a reference journal for activists of community empowerment programs, researchers, as well as social and cultural observers and societies in Indonesia. In addition to this effort will also form a writing culture independently and attached to the UMY lecturer.
