On August 25, 2017, one of the lecturers of IP and MIP UMY namely Dr Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc. confirmed as a Professor in Government Science. The existence of new professors in IP and MIP UMY is further strengthening IP, IGOV, and MIP UMY to become anchor development of Government Affairs and Administration in UMY and generally in Indonesia. In his inaugural speech Professor Dr Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc. taking the title: “Unorganized and Fragmented Governance: How to Perspective on Muhammadiyah’s Collective Action on Governance of Trustees (Amanah Governance)?” Dr Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc explains that governance-related issues are standard in all countries, especially to understand the challenges of our government through empirical findings. From the literature review, it can be seen that all governance issues are dynamic and complex. This governance complexity ranges from its application, structure and process to the evaluation of its difficult synchronised output.
From the concept of Amanah Governance, the issue of governance becomes essential to be reviewed. Including how the development of management in Indonesia can elaborate empirical practices that combine the concept of good governance that has been many concepts from Europe and America.
The contribution of Good Governance development to the concept of Amanah Governance is linear with the real work of Government Science Study Program of FISIPOL UMY with IGOV (International Class of Government) accredited A from BAN-PT and Master of Government Affairs and Administration (MIP) Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta which is also accredited A from BAN-PT and accredited internationally from the APSPA (Asia Pacific Society for Public Affairs) in guarding governance, bureaucratic reform, enhancing the capacity of political parties, advising on electoral systems, and defending the eradication of corruption. Under Jusuf Kalla School of Government (JKSG) UMY, these three units proliferated in line with the high performing organisation performance both nationally and internationally. As part of the university entity, the reputation and achievements built are simultaneous performance achieved based on prudently designed strategic planning to maintain public trust. Prof. Dr Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc. as Vice Rector of UMY for Cooperation and International Affairs said that JKSG UMY’s contribution is aimed at encouraging strong and effective leadership towards democratic government. Also, JSKG Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta is too consistent to educate politicians, bureaucrats, and civil society through learning, knowledge, skills and attitude in a government capacity.
